There are many reasons why you are considering repainting the outside of your home. Perhaps you are trying to sell your house, your original exterior paint is faded or damaged, or maybe you want a new atmosphere for your home. The new paint can add charm to your home, and if selling, a new paint on the exterior will have a tremendous effect on the value of your home. Remember that, in addition to increasing the value of the home, the value of your entire environment will increase with a new exterior paint job. Choosing the right paint color will be very important in determining the outcome of your decision. In other words, taking the time to consider the effect of your choice of color can be the difference between a stunning house and a tacky house.

0) Popularity and Depth of Color – According to a recent survey conducted by Rohm & Hass Paint Quality Institute, the most popular color choices in homes across America are white or white. Both are beige, brown, or brown with 28% of people claiming that color as the color of their home. Next is gray, followed by blue, then green and yellow. The last entry in the list is red and pink. A similar study conducted by Realty Time Magazine offered slightly different results, with white again having a majority of the sound, but followed by the last gray, blue, brown / brown, beige, cream, green, yellow and red. It may be obvious that white is the most common color, because white is actually colored with the most colors (though white is not really a color, but neutral).

0) Choosing Your Home’s Exterior Colors – The Main Colors of Your Home
There are many factors to consider when determining new colors for the outside of your home. First, notice the color you will leave in your home, such as the color of the roof, deck, or brick wall or stone or building. Narrow your choices first by figuring out which colors match this prominent and definite feature.
0) Around the Environment – Next, be sure to consider the rest of the neighborhood. It’s usually a good idea to stay in the same color context as your neighbor. Remember that your home color scheme will have a direct effect on the value of your environment. In fact, some restricted communities, homeowners associations, and historical neighborhoods may have restrictions on what colors you can paint in your home, so be sure to learn about any constraints your community may have.
