When we get there, we all work from home. Whether it’s where you live or where you save your life, you need space for computers, documents and some paper clips. If not, is it a constant game from where the bills go? or Please do not play with my computer! A clear workspace not only creates an area for all goods, but also creates a respectable private space from those around you. From closets, to guest rooms, to all special rooms, here are simple plans to help you create a beautiful, comfortable and productive atmosphere.
This is it:
*Recognize your needs – Assess what is currently working and what does not. Clean up space and make sure your storage is adequate. Outside the filing cabinet, consider baskets, dustbins and shelves.
* Develop floor plans – Do not try to put too much furniture in the room and consider pieces that can attract double-duty. Ballard design has a cool Home Office Kit to help you plan your space. Or just pull out some graph paper, pencil and ruler and design your own space
* Create the Right Environment – Make a comfortable and supportive environment for your creativity and concentration. Although I encourage you to go with your intestines on color, here are some basic color / mood associations that may give encouragement:
* Blue – calm, orderly, water
* Green – nature, health, renewal
* Orange – the balance of enthusiasm
* Purple – spirituality, wisdom
* Red – energy, power
* White – purity, simplicity
* Yellow – joy, optimism

Of Ballards Home Design
Elements of Architecture – If your budget and time allow, go to gold with new flooring, mold and lighting. My friend and trusted web developer, Andrew, is repeating his office so I am collecting the following tip with him.
>> Flooring: I recommend hard surfaces with wooden list topping. The carpet can be dusty and I want to keep the area around the computer equipment super clean.
>> Molding: Be brave with base mold and crown. Do not look to original prints for size. Often they are wimpy and small. If you have a 9 foot ceiling then there are up to 9? Each one for the crown and essentially a fair game. I usually make a base a few inches less than a crown. Mixing traditional molds with modern furniture gives designers a touch of space.
>> Lighting: The best lighting for the workspace is a combination of good general lighting (such as hidden lighting) that is highlighted with some task lighting (lights).
* Personalization – Working from home allows you to personalize your space and actually make it your own. No rules! Highlight the room with your favorite painting or lights with cool colors. Use cork boards for special mementos or family photos. Make sure your office describes the attitude of professionalism if you meet with clients in your home. It does not take much to convert a simple space into a home office. And the drive for efficiency and peace of mind will be priceless.
